Edinburgh

Letztes Wochenende war ich mit Christoph und Daniel in Edinburgh. Zwischen vielen kleinen Buchläden, Comicshops, Fish & Chips und langen Fußmärschen durch die Stadt und über grüne Hügel blieb auch noch etwas Zeit für ein paar Zeichnungen. Bei deadheadcomics fand ich eine Ausgabe des relativ jungen Comicmagazins “Dangerous Ink“, das mir sehr gefallen hat und das ich hier einmal erwähnen möchte.
Außerdem möchte ich erwähnen, dass man niemals “Three lions on the shirt” in einem Schottischen Pub singen sollte.
Last Weekend I went to Edinburg with my friends Christoph and Daniel. While visiting lots of small bookshops, comicshops, having fish & chips, long walks through the city and over green hills, there was still some time for some quick drawings. I found a copy of “dangerous ink” at deadheadcomics, that I liked quite a lot - just wanted to mention that here. Another thing I´d like to mention is: Never sing “three lions on the shirt” in a scottish pub - never.

Der Drache

Für das Theaterstück “Der Drache” nach einem Märchen von Jewgeni Schwarz habe ich vor einigen Jahren einmal ein Plakat gemacht, als ich noch in der Theater-AG mitgespielt habe. Unser Regisseur schlug damals vor einen riesigen Drachenfuß in das Bild hineinragen zu lassen, was ich geflissentlich ignorierte. Im Nachhinein, war ich aber doch neugierig, wie es hätte aussehen können. Hier ist einmal eine kolorierte Skizze.
For the theatre club in highschool I once designed a Poster for Jewgeni Schwarz´”The Dragon”. That must be 12 years ago now. Our director suggested to show a big dragon claw, which I ignored. Later on I asked myself how his version of the poster would have looked like. Here is a coloured sketch of it.

Buttons bei Druckdealer

Eine erste Collektion Buttons gibt es jetzt bei Druckdealer in der Marktstraße in Hamburg. Die bemalte Zigarrenkiste gibt es nicht dazu.
The first set of buttons is now available at Druckdealer. The coloured Zigarbox is not included - its just for decoration purposes.

Die Schatten bei Kato

Mein kleines Comic “Die Schatten” hat jetzt endlich den Weg in den neuen Comicladen Kato im Karoviertel geschafft. Der ist wirklich sehr gemütlich, es gibt neben vielen guten Comics und Graphic Novels auch etliche Kleinstauflagen kleiner Hefte, die mit viel Liebe zusammengestrickt wurden. Leider hatte ich nicht so viel Zeit um die gemütlichen Sessel auszuprobieren, in denen man einen Kaffee trinken kann.
My “Shadows”-Comic is now available at Kato. The tiny store has lots of good comics & graphic novels but they also sell smallpress and handmade art. Unfortunately I had not enough time for a coffee in their cosy reading-corner.
